Matt Kelly | Managing Director

Raised in the small country town of Bright, Matt knows what it’s like to be part of a tight-knit community. His career began when he was 16, working as a carpenter with a local custom builder on several high-end, complex projects. After seven years, Matt ventured down to Wangaratta in 2009 to pursue different building opportunities and play football for the Wangaratta Magpies.

With 19 years in the trade, Matt is dedicated to raising the standards of the building industry – that’s why he and Shane decided to start Crown Constructions in 2016. He loves to constantly grow as a business owner and person, and watch his team evolve together. Last but not least, Matt loves seeing the homes come to completion after all the planning and construction efforts poured into them.

Shane Gaston | Managing Director

Shane has been a Wangaratta resident since he was three years old, with his father serving as a local firefighter for over 30 years. As local as they come, Shane graduated from Wangaratta High School and has played in the Wangaratta Rovers football team. He started his building apprenticeship when he was 16 and has worked for many high-quality custom builders across the area.

With 18 years in the trade, Shane has developed a keen eye for detail and takes pride in every project. He loves leading the construction team to strive for exceptional craftsmanship and watching them grow their skills as managers and carpenters.

Nathan Lukey | Building Designer

Nathan started his career in the industry with his father, a builder, completing his apprenticeship in carpentry. He would later journey to South Australia for a sea change, completing mostly private jobs, and small to large renovations. When he returned home, he worked for his dad, doing anything from small renovations, decks, and custom homes – and building his own home in 2016 in Myrtleford, Victoria. Even though a diving accident left him paralysed from the chest down and in a wheelchair, Nathan continued to advance his building career. He returned to school to complete a CERT IV in Residential drafting, followed by an Advanced diploma in Building Design which he is still studying. Nathan also completed a Cert IV in energy and sustainability to expand his building knowledge and help offer a full design service at Crown.

Brad Bell | Estimator

A Wangaratta local, Brad made his start as a carpenter back in high school – working one day a week. He has since gained 17 years of experience across a range of roles, including as a carpenter and solar installer. Over the years, Brad has worked with both Matt and Shane on various jobs together with different builders, and this year has shifted his focus to construction estimating.

Off-site, Brad enjoys fishing and spending time with his wife Kelly, son Riley, and dog Molly.

Brad Murray | Project Coordinator

Brad has 14 years of experience to his name, beginning with a focus on building architecturally designed residential homes in Melbourne and, later, country Victoria. As a carpenter, he enjoyed the challenge every home presented from a construction perspective. Now, as the Project Coordinator at Crown, he loves being able to work with clients from the very start of the planning process and see their plans transform from paper to construction.

Brad grew up in Myrtleford, but has also lived in Perth, Adelaide, and Melbourne. He has three kids with his wife Jane – Lila, Heidi, and Bodie – and a chocolate Labrador named Lenny.

Away from work, Brad is a huge fan of the great outdoors and spends as much time with his family as he can.

Jamie Rondinella | Construction Supervisor

Great potential, combined with working alongside a great team, is what drives Jamie to perform at his very best every day. Jamie has 15 years of experience in the building industry – nine years on the tools and six years in management.

Starting as an apprentice carpenter, he became a tradesman and undertook his own projects in the new build and renovation scene. He has worked as a project manager for an insurance builder, and a construction supervisor for a large volume home builder, before settling at Crown Constructions

When he’s not on-site, Jamie spends time with his wife and three kids. You can also find him playing golf, enjoying a beer with good company, or smoking meats and cooking.

Emily Jacobs | Design Consultant/Construction Admin

With a keen interest in architecture and design, Emily completed her diploma in Interior Design in 2015. The highlight of her job is working with our clients through the design and build process, helping them bring their dream home to life. Prior to joining Crown Constructions, Emily worked as a New Home Coordinator in Albury.

Emily grew up in Chiltern and Wodonga, with brief stints in Kalgoorlie, Rutherglen, and Melbourne. She is a mum to her 12-year-old son, Oliver, and two Jack Russells, Brodie and Bailey.

Charlie Davies | Carpentry Supervisor

Charlie’s career began as a 17-year-old apprentice carpenter with a local Wangaratta custom builder, where he met and worked under Matt for a while. He has since gained 13 years’ experience as a carpenter and has recently added management to his role.

Having been a part of the Crown family for the past four years, Charlie loves being able to work on and lead the team on some of the northeast region’s finest homes, setting the industry standard.

Raised on a farm near Oxley just outside of Wangaratta, Charlie enjoys camping, 4WD, hunting, fishing, and footy – pretty much anything outdoors.

When you choose the team at Crown Constructions, you’re ensuring your home is built to the highest quality – by a team of experienced and skilled professionals who set the standard in the industry. Get in touch with us today to start your dream project.
